Synth Riders is a VR rhythm game, that has become very popular with the VR community. The team behind it Kluge Interactive have now made the most significant update to the games since it’s release. Players can now play together in the brand new Multiplayer mode and enjoy a new streamlined menu interface – and the best thing of all its completely free.

The multiplayer mode is cross-platform, meaning you can meet your friends in lobbies never mind what is there HMD (Head Mounted Display) of choice. In the mode you will compete for high-scores, all while dancing to your favourite tracks. With players being able to spice up the competition with modifiers such as Prismatic Notes and Sudden Death to name a few.

Then you also get significant updates in the games UX and visual style. You will be navigating re-designed menus, which will allow the users to enjoy smoother, quicker and more intuitive interactions while choosing songs and browsing the music packs.

To celebrate this release Kluge Interactive have also added a bonus free song and created brands new customer-designed avatars (PCVR only), sound effects and a visual stage.

On this update Creative Director Abraham Aguero Benzecri said;

“Synth Riders has continued to be developed in active conversation with our community, and we knew early on that we had to give them a way to play together, not only to compete but to have fun with each other. We are excited to be one of the first VR rhythm games with multiplayer support, it is a tribute to our community!“

The developement of Synth Riders is not stopping with this update either, with other planned updates coming. Among these Kluge Interactive will soon release ‘Electro Swing Essentials‘ DLC including songs from Parov Stelar, Jamie Berry and Electric Swing Circus.

The multiplayer update is now available on Oculus Quest, Oculus Store and Steam.
