This was a very interesting interactive experience in VR, using the HTC Vive. Ben himself was the only one manning the stand, and when speaking to him about this project he said using the low-poly design was best suited for VR.

This was the first VR game I had seen listed on the website before the event, so I knew I would need to find out the position of the game, luckily it was right next door to NYC Bungee. I headed here on the second day as I had arranged to interview Alex from the team – unfortunately I had some technical issues with the voice recording. The team at Blackwall had brought with them a demo that included Beginner and Extreme jumps, wanting to offer something for VR newcomers and people with VR experience alike. With the years of experience I’ve had in this medium I went straight in for the extreme. This had you jumping from the Statue of Liberty, and as with Richie’s Plank Experience the sense of height was there as soon as you walked out onto the platform to select your difficulty.

Hands-On With GORN VR (HTC Vive)

I was one of the people who spent the time to download the demo from Free Lives website. Then had to force launch this game through Steam, just so I could get a taste of GORN using the HTC Vive. Doing this obviously made the game face some issues like crashes – but now the game is readily available on Steam I couldn’t wait to try it out.
