The Metal Legends tracks brings another awesome track list that resonates with my teen years, these are:

Children of Bodom – Are You Dead Yet?
Bullet For My Valentine – Waking The Demon
Lamb of God – Laid To Rest
Motörhead – Ace of Spade
Megadeth – Hanger 18

All of these tracks are playable in the single player modes, which are arcade, classic and smashed reality (MR mode) and are playable in all difficulties in every mode.

They have followed all their other track packs and shown they know how to pick a great selection from the genre they are releasing the tracks from – and as aforementioned these ones really resonate with my teenage years. Getting to play Laid To Rest and Hanger 18 a massive highlight from them for me, and these songs that are still on my playlists to this day.

When the new genre being added being Metal, expect trashing drums and crazy drum solos, meaning these tracks get really difficult and the hardest track pack released to date. These songs really do feel like a workout, as you don’t really get chance to take a break – especially on Extreme difficulty, the speed and the number of notes will keep you constantly hitting moving. All of the tracks are well mapped, and great to play never mind which difficulty you play it on, they all feel fun to play.

The Verdict

PotamWorks have done it again and picked a fantastic selection of tracks from the Metal genre, showing they really know how to pick songs from the genre they are adding to their game. This brings a great selection of songs which resonate with my teenage years and certainly annoyed my parents with when blasting them in my room. With another switch of genre for this track pack it means even more musical tastes are being covered by Smash Drums, which make a great addition to the already fantastic selection of base tracks and previous DLC’s.
