The 2000’s Rock Legends tracks have again taken me back to my teenage years, as I approached adulthood. The tracks added are:
Blur – Song 2
Evanescence – Bring Me To Life
Fall Out Boy – Thnks Fr Th Mmrs
Foo Fighters – The Pretender
Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Snow (Hey Oh)
Carrying on the trend of the track packs released for Smash Drums, these are playable in all the single player modes in virtual or mixed reality but, cannot be played in multiplayer.
They have also followed with their ability to select fantastic tracks, with this new lot covering different sub-genres of 2000’s rock, all coming from bands that I still listen to now. I was so pleased to see Foo Fighters getting a track in Smash Drums and a hit like The Pretender is a great addition (with me having the pleasure to see them live for the first time this year). Also seeing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers added, with them being a band I have also love for so long.
With the move back to rock from the metal track pack I was expecting a move back to more subdued drumming with the whole thrash metal element being removed, and that was correct in the most case. However, although its not heavy as songs from the likes of Lamb of God, The Pretender is by far the hardest track I have ever played on Smash Drums, with it taking me a good number of attempts to get through on extreme – it’s such a complex song on the drums. As I have come to expect for PotamWorks every track is well mapped and made fun to play never mind what difficulty you chose to play it on, while keeping the feeling you are actually playing the drums.
The release of another track pack in 2024 for Smash Drums did surprise me but, I am glad PotamWorks decided to release the 2000’s Rock Legends Music Pack, as it again the game has tapped into my teenage years and added a great selection of songs from different sub-genres of 2000’s rock. Again they have chosen to introduce another different genre of music for what is surely the last track pack of 2024, adding more choices for peoples music tastes – expanding on what is becoming a massive selection of genres within the base and DLC tracks of Smash Drums.
