Top Five Meta Quest Games 2024

In line with my earlier list showcasing the top five mixed reality games to experience on your new Meta Quest this holiday season, I would now like to recommend some virtual reality games for those who have recently purchased a headset during this festive period.

Number Five: Triangle Strategy

Triangle Strategy delivers a comprehensive tactical turn-based RPG experience in Virtual Reality, having originally launched on the Nintendo Switch. To ensure your team’s victory, you must leverage every tactical advantage on the battlefield. Consider factors such as flanking maneuvers, elevation benefits, and strategic positioning. Square Enix excels in crafting compelling narratives and immersive turn-based combat, now enhanced by the integration of 2.5D sprites within a 3D environment viewed through your headset. With a campaign duration of approximately thirty hours, this title is essential for fans of Square Enix.

Number Four: Asguards Wrath 2

Asgaurds Wrath 2 presents an extraordinary adventure that exemplifies the potential of VR gaming. The expansive world, diverse enemies, and captivating combat, combined with a seamless integration of action and thoughtfully crafted puzzles, delivers an experience that encompasses all the elements I cherish in games. Following the post-release patch for Meta Quest 3, the visuals have significantly improved within the headset, effectively harnessing the capabilities of the Meta Quest 3.

Number Three: Smash Drums

Smash Drums earned a spot on my mixed reality list and has now also made it to my virtual reality list, as it remains just as enjoyable in its original mode. The base game features an extensive library of tracks, and players can further enhance their experience with multiple DLC packs spanning various music genres, ensuring a wealth of songs to keep you engaged. Each track is meticulously mapped across arcade, classic, and hybrid modes, providing an authentic drumming experience and allowing you to choose your preferred level of difficulty. This game is undoubtedly my top choice for rhythm games in virtual reality.

Number Two: Moss and Moss Book 2

Moss is the title that truly convinced me of the potential for third-person action platformers to thrive in virtual reality, and I have consistently recommended it to others since my initial playthrough in 2018. The game establishes an unparalleled bond with your small mouse companion, Quill, achieved through exceptional animation and your crucial role in her survival as you assist her with various platforming challenges. These narratives are meticulously designed, featuring action, puzzles, and significant boss encounters that are hallmarks of the platforming genre. With the recent updates for Quest 3, the visuals have reached new heights, making it an experience that should not be missed.

Number One: Batman: Arkham Shadow

Camoflaj’s Batman Arkham Shadow has delivered a comprehensive Arkham VR experience that honors its legacy and nearly rivals Half-Life: Alyx as the premier VR game on the market—a significant achievement. The development team has crafted an entirely new narrative that fits seamlessly between Origins and Asylum, maintaining the suspense and introducing unexpected twists characteristic of the Arkham series. Furthermore, they have successfully preserved the core gameplay mechanics, ensuring that the combat remains fluid in Virtual Reality, allowing players to truly embody the role of Batman during exhilarating combo sequences.
