As mentioned in this pack you will get two Tomb Raider themed tables, which are:
Adventures of Lara Croft
Secrets of Croft Manor
Both of these new tables are absolutely amazing, bringing an iconic video game series to your arcade, complete with a mini Lara Croft on your tables – her animation as she jumps across and dives off the tables is genuinely remarkable. This is the first set of tables in the game where choosing a favorite has proven to be difficult; both are outstanding in their own unique ways. Nevertheless, I also think these are the most challenging tables introduced to date. I just can’t seem to hit those score bonuses, but I expect that with more practice and understanding the patterns, I will get better – something I certainly need to concentrate on.
As aforementioned, both tables are outstanding in their own ways, and this is further enhanced by their unique styles and gameplay approaches that help achieve higher scores, even though the fundamental gameplay remains the classic Pinball. So far, I’ve enjoyed a few hours of pure fun switching between the two tables and attempting to grasp the scoring patterns – I only stopped because of the low battery warning on my headset – since I had my Arcade2TV-CR dongle connected, and I’ve noticed that it sometimes disconnects when I plug the charging cable from my head strap into the dongle.
The Tomb Raider tables feature immersive elements along the edges and a mini Lara who interacts with various aspects of the table. I truly appreciate these small details, as they enhance the overall appearance and experience of the tables. However, I must mention that when Lara climbs out and dives off the Adventures of Lara Croft table, only to climb back on with her signature handstand move, it can be quite distracting. I’ve never found myself not wanting to watch that sequence, which can result in losing a ball if you’re not attentive and haven’t just stopped the ball with your flipper. Additionally, similar to the other tables, you will have customisable unlocks for each table, along with Tomb Raider-themed objects to embellish your arcade.
Zen Studios has excelled in their collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, successfully bringing the legendary game series to Pinball FX VR. For just £7.99, they have introduced two additional tables that are undoubtedly worth the investment due to their exceptional quality. Each table offers a distinctly different gameplay experience and, in my opinion, represents the most challenging tables in the game, which means a lot of practice will be necessary. The Tomb Raider tables feature immersive elements surrounding the tables and beautifully animated mini Lara on each table, along with unlockable items for personalising each table and enhancing your arcade. This provides numerous incentives to continue playing beyond just the enjoyment factor, as you strive to unlock items and climb the leaderboards. These tables are a fantastic addition to the already remarkable selection of tables available.
